Saint-Honoré

Beds 3 / Bedrooms 1
Delightful and sunny 50m² 1-bedroom apartment, situated on the 3rd floor of a building (no elevator) superbly located in one of the most elegant and famous addresses of Paris, at a few steps from the Louvre and the Centre Pompidou, in the 1st arrondissement. The apartment is located in a typical, old-style Parisian building.
Offering a characteristic environment in its typically Parisian building à l’ancienne, this apartment offers a taste of Parisian lifestyle in a thoroughly modern and sunny atmosphere. A long hallway separates the various areas of the house, allowing for its layout to provide privacy between the day and night areas. The spacious day area is at the end of this hall, opening up into a large living room which offers a sitting area and a dining area, the former charmingly decorated with a double sofa bed (140cm/55” wide) and an ingenious coffee table which may be raised to turn into a work or dining table, two designer armchairs, a cabinet containing all crockery and the flat screen TV. Two large windows to one end of the room allow for plenty of natural sunlight to brighten the room and enhance the sharp contrast between the whitewashed walls and sharp coloured motifs in the décor. The opposite side cradles the open plan kitchen, modern and fully equipped with all necessities including a dishwasher and both a regular and microwave oven, and itself separated from the living area by the red lacquered high counter which, with its bar stools, makes a perfect breakfast or lunch area.
The sleeping area is before the day area, to the left of the hallway, and offers a delightfully irregular shaped double bedroom, due to the original wooden beams in the walls which add flair and character. Furnished with a double bed, a pink motif dominates this room, making it all the more fun. The bathroom is towards the entrance, to the right of the hallway, and fitted with a wash basin and shower with mosaic details, whilst the WC is separated, in true French style.

Area description
The apartment is located parallel to the old Palais Royal D’Orleans, and through the Potier passage one easily reaches the gardens of the Palace, one of the most characteristic corners of Paris, with its old antique shops, 19th century boutiques and old post-revolutionary brothels. This part of Paris has nearly no equivalent when speaking about location and proximity of centers of interest. Right in the 1st arrondissement, close to the Opera and the Louvre, the apartment is surrounded by History. Here culture meets the business sector. The area is ideally located for work as many companies and banks are based there or within a short distance. Four of the best hotels in Paris are right nearby, the Crillon, the Ritz, the Meurice and the trendier Hotel Costes. Already very important during the three centuries before the French Revolution in 1789, this part of Paris has always developed and evolved. In the 16th and 17th century the "Jardin des Tuileries" and the "Place Vendôme" were created. Minor changes to the streets occurred later, for instance "rue de la Paix" (originally "rue Napoléon") was built at the beginning of the 19th century. The rue Saint-Honoré was known as been a place where all ranks of nobility and rich Parisian families found their suppliers since the 16th century. Nowadays the places and people have evolved, but the trend is the same. Except for Sundays, when all shops are closed, the area is always busy and lively. With all this History what we now have is an amazing architecture and museums. All the streets in the neighbourhood have a very specific theme, the buildings all present a harmonious architecture and design and most of them if not all are of historical importance. The "Jardin des Tuileries" itself is another piece of History, and in addition to its green area it offers a couple of museums (Le Jeu de Paume and l`Orangerie). Through this garden, and thanks to the Passerelle Solférino, it is easy to access the museum of Orsay, whereas within a short walking distance one also reaches the Louvre. For more theatrical entertainment the "La Comédie Française" and the Opéra Garnier are also very close by. The neighbourhood has everything to offer for a fine day to day life. Public transport: Closest Metro: LOUVRE RIVOLI (line 1) or CHATELET LES HALLES (lines 1, 4, 7, 11, 14 and RER A, B, D)
